MeisterSinger Edition Primatik 365
The MeisterSinger Edition Primatik 365 unites the design language of two different watches. The resultant ‘fusion’ delivers additional functionality while still proving uncluttered and simple to read. Once again, the Münster-based company delivers a new eye-catching watch for the discerning horophile.
Two into one
A few years ago, I remember a friend of mine was invited to a wedding. Keen to make a good impression, she went on a shopping spree, purchasing a new dress, shoes and handbag. However, when it came to selecting a hat, she couldn’t find exactly what she was looking for. This self-confessed perfectionist would not countenance the idea of compromise as she relentlessly hunted for her ideal hat. Eventually, she resorted to purchasing two hats and fashioning them into one. Finally, she had the perfect accompaniment to her special outfit.
I recently received a press release from MeisterSinger, the Münster-based watch brand, informing me of its latest model, the Edition Primatik 365, and it reminded me of my friend and her two hats into one story. This latest watch bears a close resemblance to the brand’s Pangaea 365 as well as the recently launched Primatic model. I will return to this notion of horological fusion later.
A sense of calm
A trait common to all MeisterSinger models is they all use a lone hand to succinctly convey the hours and minutes. This characteristic is part of the charm of owning a MeisterSinger. Every element is designed to bestow a sense of calm. The dominant single hand advances slowly, imploring the wearer to take life easy. Furthermore, many of the firm’s models shun complexity, proclaiming the bare essentials free of distraction.

However, MeisterSinger does have some watches in its repertoire that show more than simply the hours and minutes. Recently, I was given the opportunity to wear the brand’s Primatic model (yes, that’s the correct spelling – with a ‘c’ at the end of Primatic), endowed with a neat circular date aperture at 3 o’clock and an arc-shaped power-reserve display at 6 o’clock.
Retro charms
In 2020, the German firm produced the Edition 366, a hand-wound watch that resembled a period gauge or historical scientific instrument. Again, the lovely people in Münster sent me a sample for evaluation. I was smitten.

A few weeks ago, MeisterSinger released the Pangaea 365. Although smaller, this watch looks very similar to the Edition 366 with its cursive text gracing the dial and its arrow-like single hand pointing to the outer track with laser-like precision.

Fusion horology
Now, with the advent of the MeisterSinger Edition Primatik 365 (with a ‘k’ at the end of Primatik), the watch firm has taken the Sellita SW270 found in the aforementioned Primatic model, along with its additional indications, and combined it with the look of the Pangaea 365.

No adaptions required
The new MeisterSinger Edition Primatik 365 is limited to just 100 pieces and is offered for the modest sum of €2,290 (RRP as of 28.9.2022). Ultimately, whether you like the simplicity of the Pangaea 365, the modernity of the Primatic or this stylish fusion of both (the Edition Primatik 365), MeisterSinger has provided more choice, something most horophiles, myself included, appreciate. And thankfully, unlike the aforementioned lady, there is no need to adapt two watches in order to achieve that perfect look.
