The Raymond Weil Freelancer Chronograph Ref 7732-TIC-50421 is the latest addition to the Freelancer family of models. The dial features three counters and masterfully pairs blue and white hues. The steel case features PVD treatment, emulating the appearance of titanium, while a brown calf leather strap delivers tasteful tonal contrast with the dial and case ensemble.

Founded in 1976, Raymond Weil is not the oldest Genevan watch firm, and yet, its products are stocked by an impressive number of retailers. The Maison has skilfully used music as a means of engaging with potential audiences and it now enjoys impressive brand awareness. Another reason for the Swiss marque’s success can be attributed to its attractively styled products and the firm’s reputation for delivering value for money.

The pinnacle of Raymond Weil ownership is the Freelancer family of models. This collection of watches includes skeleton options and chronographs. Over the years, I have worn several versions of the Freelancer Chronograph, some with a date indication and some displaying both the day and date. Considering the modest asking price of these watches, the dials and cases are wonderfully executed and endowed with an array of delightful details.

Now, the Maison has unveiled a new model, the Raymond Weil Freelancer Chronograph Ref 7732-TIC-50421. It’s housed in a 42mm stainless steel case featuring PVD coating. The resultant appearance of the case is intended to look like titanium, courtesy of its grey hues.

The dial features a tri-compax layout with day and date windows positioned at 3 o’clock. In addition, the display is presented in a rich shade of blue, while the counters are chaste white, delivering a becoming contrast.

Consistent with its siblings and forebears, the display on this model is enriched with sublime details, including a snailed minute track and a tachymeter scale, positioned at the periphery of the dial. Lastly, an exhibition caseback affords views of the self-winding movement within.

Housed in a round 42mm titanium-coloured stainless steel case, this new vintage-inspired freelancer chronograph offers a day-date window at 3 o’clock, and a circular tachymeter scale. The deep blue satin-brushed dial contrasts the three beige chronograph counters and is completed by prominent nickel-plated indexes matched perfectly by the slender hands. The Super-LumiNova® coated hands and indexes allow for full readability in the dark. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating providing maximum durability and visibility.

The freelancer 7732-TIC-50421 comes equipped with a genuine brown calf leather strap adding a natural charm to this timepiece. The strap is secured by a stainless-steel folding clasp with a double push-button safety system. This model maintains the collection’s signature attributes: finely tapered horns that curve comfortably to the wrist and the external chronograph pushers. The screwed-down steel case back with sapphire crystal creates an airtight seal providing a water resistance up to 100 meters.

This brand-new freelancer chronograph asserts its vintage personality with an inverted colour scheme but still boast the modern complications of the collection. This iconic watch is the perfect cross-section between functionality and style. RAYMOND WEIL once again continues to promote its iconic freelancer collection synonymous of independence and elegance.
