Accomplished watchmaker, Armin Strom, established his eponymous business in 1967, selling and restoring clocks from modest premises in Burgdorf. However, he soon gained a reputation for adapting existing watches, often encompassing skeletonization and hand-engraving.
Ultimately, Serge Michel acquired the brand. Together with his childhood friend, Claude Greisler, he set up the company’s own Manufacture in Biel/Bienne (2008). The firm has since gained a reputation for making ingenious, high-end, in-house movements.
Moreover, the brand is widely known for resonance watches incorporating its unique patented clutch spring. Lastly, Armin Strom watches are endowed with refined finishes consistent with the term ‘Haute Horlogerie’.
