NOMOS Glashütte Club Campus Cream Coral and Electric Green Watch Review
The NOMOS Glashütte Club Campus Cream Coral and Electric Green uphold what has become an annual tradition, the release of new brightly coloured Club Campus models. These watches serve as ideal mementos, marking the rite of passage when students transition from adolescence into adulthood and embrace new professional opportunities.

Graduation watch
It’s that time again when many young people leave full-time education and embark on the next stage of life’s meandering journey. Proud parents and grandparents seek to mark this landmark with a gift, a memento made to be cherished for years to come.

Bauhaus watch
For several years, NOMOS Glashütte has tapped into this buoyant market, releasing a series of interestingly hued Club Campus models. From the outset, the German firm has always recognised that cherished mementos should proffer longevity, both aesthetically and technically. As legions of NOMOS wearers already know, the brand from Saxony often references Bauhaus, Deutsche Werkbund and the Ulm School when conceiving its timeless creations. Indeed, the brand’s prowess for design is evident when viewing its back catalogue of models; watches that have retained their allure despite the passage of time.

Enduring style
However, beyond its penchant for enduring style, the brand is also known for its mechanical expertise, crafting an array of in-house movements. These movements are technically impressive, highly precise and beautifully finished.
NOMOS Glashütte Club Campus 2023
This year, the Club Sport is offered in two new colourways, ‘Cream Coral’ and ‘Electric Green’. The luxury marque often explores unusual, eye-catching shades seldom seen elsewhere. Personally speaking, I like both options, but the Cream Coral dial is my favourite.
California dial
Each dial configuration features baton-style hour and minute hands, plump indexes and a small seconds display at 6 o’clock. However, typical of NOMOS, the dial is festooned with a myriad of smile-inducing details. The indexes consist of Arabic numerals, batons and Roman numerals, all of which are enriched with luminescent coating. The small seconds display is recessed and tastefully plays with depths.

Legible dial
While both the NOMOS Glashütte Club Campus Cream Coral and Electric Green dial options are aesthetically attractive, the German marque has not sacrificed readability on the altar of style. Indeed, the display on both dial options is eminently legible and highly practical, making them ideal for daily wear.

Caseback
Prospective purchasers are indulged with much choice. Beyond deciding which of the two dial colours to select, the consumer is able to opt for one of two case sizes, 36mm or 38.5mm. Moreover, the watch is available with a solid caseback or an exhibition caseback.

NOMOS Glashütte offers an engraving service for proud parents, etc to add a loving message to the solid caseback. However, I personally would always opt for an exhibition caseback, despite it attracting a modest price premium. The reason for my predilection for dorsal glazing is that the hand-wound movement within this watch, the ‘in-house built caliber Alpha’, is beautiful to behold.

Caliber Alpha
The mainplate is adorned with perlage, the three-quarter plate is embellished with Glashütte ribbing, the ratchet wheel and crown wheel incorporate sunburst decoration and several thermally-blued screws grace the movement. The quality of the finishing would shame that of many watches costing twice as much and, to this end, the movement should be admired on a daily basis.
