Born in Marseilles, François-Paul Journe (F.P.Journe) spent much of his early career restoring clocks in his uncle’s workshop in Paris.
In 1999, Journe established his eponymous Maison and unveiled his first serially produced wristwatch, the Tourbillon Souverain. Fitted with the hand-wound Calibre 1498, the watch featured a remontoir d’égalité , deadbeat seconds and power-reserve.
Widely considered one of the finest watchmakers of his generation, Journe has produced several groundbreaking watches, including the Chronomètre Optimum (featuring a remontoir d’égalité ), Chronomètre a Résonance, Astronomic Souveraine and the Répétition Souveraine.
