Universal Genève

Founded in 1894 and named ‘Universal Watch’ , the company relocated to Geneva in 1919. Eventually renamed ‘Universal Genève’ went on to create a series of extraordinary watches, including the Compax and the iconic Polerouter. Like many Swiss firms, the brand experienced many challenges during the so-called quartz crisis, virtually disappearing from view. Beloved by purists, the brand was acquired by Partners Group and CVC Capital Partners, owners of Breitling and set about reviving the brand and returning it to its former glory.
