The Panerai Experience Edition Submersible Chrono NAVY SEALs (PAM01402) is one of five new commando-themed models from the Italian-Swiss watch brand. Offered in various forms, these watches brim with testosterone. The pinnacle of this horological quintette is the (PAM01402) which comes with a ‘physically and mentally’ challenging experience with the NAVY SEALs.
Money can’t buy experiences
Just imagine being invited to walk the red carpet at the Oscars, play a guitar with Ed Sheeran or sit in a sportscar with Max Verstappen by your side. These opportunities are seldom available to even the most well-heeled individuals.
Recognising this, some brands have now started offering loyal, high-net-worth clients ‘money can’t buy experiences’. These so-called experiences are seldom available to members of the public.

One such brand is Panerai. In 2022, the Italian-Swiss watch brand unveiled the Panerai Radiomir Eilean Experience Edition (PAM01244). Limited to 50 pieces, the watch came with a ticket to ride aboard Eilean, Panerai’s very own yacht, and sail along the Amalfi coast. Built in 1936, the yacht featured in the Duran Duran video ‘Rio’ back in the 80s. Those individuals of a certain age who purchased one of the Experience watches were able to don a pastel-coloured linen suit and emulate Simon Le Bon staring into the distance with waves kissing his bare feet.

Later in 2022, the marque released the Panerai Submersible Forze Speciali Experience Edition (PAM01238). After purchasing said watch, adrenaline junkies were invited to Italy to join Italian Special Forces troops in a series of exercises.

Again in 2022, Panerai indulged thrill seekers with another all-action experience, on this occasion, collaborating with the NAVY SEALs. The aptly named Panerai Submersible Navy Seals Experience (PAM01325) included ‘first-hand exposure to the rigorous physical, emotional and mental demands of SEAL training’. Moreover, the experience also came with an NFT artwork. Sadly, this particular reference was exclusive to the US market only.
Panerai Experience Edition Submersible Chrono NAVY SEALs (PAM01402) – available internationally
Now the luxury watch brand, for the first time ever, is offering its unique blend of commando escapades to an international audience. The Panerai Experience Edition Submersible Chrono NAVY SEALs (PAM01402) is an all-action automatic watch measuring 47 mm in diameter. Housed in ‘Brushed Brunito Steel and titanium and endowed with a ceramic bezel, this melange of materials brims with masculinity. Equipped with the Panerai P.9100/R calibre, the movement features a flyback chronograph. In addition, the watch includes a countdown function, an ideal means of timing the prelude to a full-scale deployment.

The dial is presented in anthracite and, as you would expect of Panerai, includes luminous hour markers and dots. The Panerai Experience Edition Submersible Chrono NAVY SEALs (PAM01402) is supplied on a green Caoutchouc strap, reinforcing the military vibe. However, you’ll have to swoop in if you wish to experience the rigorous NAVY SEAL training as the watch is limited to just 50 pieces.
